Calamity has forced our government to manufacture genetically altered humans. Creations. Mortals have refused to serve and protect, no longer willing to put their lives on the line for our world. These ‘Creations’ were designed to manage and enforce order among citizens. Creations don’t know fear or express pain. Their sole function is to fight the enemy and live to battle again.

Orphans Kylie Alexander and her twin brother, Lukahn, were born for this purpose. Dedicating their lives to sharpening their deadly skills and forfeiting the chance of love and freedom, they ready themselves for Separation, the deadly rite of passage where the oldest teens are drafted into the final preparation for war.

When Ky and Luke are shipped off to Separation three months early, questions begin to arise. Who is the real enemy? What is really happening beyond the fractured sanctuary of the training compound? What are they actually fighting for?

Humans and Creations alike have become allies when a plague of the living dead becomes the number one hazard. Strategies change as the twins discover they may not be the saviors of humankind after all.
They may be the enemy of the people.

Wow! What a great start to what looks to be a fantastic series! I just couldn’t put Created down once I started! It sucked me in from the beginning and left me wanting more. Peiri Ann is a wonderful writer that brought this world to life through her words. She writes with such passion I can just feel it coming off the pages as I read. I can’t think of anything I would change. It is just so well put together in my opinion.

I find the concept of the twins being bound at a cellular level and able to heal each other to be quite interesting. It’s like the twin thing being taken to a whole other level. Kylie’s journey brings us action, love, aliens and zombies. And boy what a journey it is! We get hit with plenty of the unexpected throughout the story and so does the main characters. I fell in love with the characters. Well except a couple of annoying ones, but they make the story more interesting. The end left me with so many questions that I really can’t wait to get answered. Book 2 promises to be outstanding and will defiantly be on my TBR list!

Kylie and Luke are twins created to train and fight without fear. When Separation comes they must leave everything they have known behind and begin to fulfill their purpose. The Creations are the strongest of humankind. Kylie and Luke are the strongest of the Creations. They must focus only on their purpose, resisting any distractions. Until something gets in the way, someone gets in the way and life will never be the same for Kylie. Secrets are being kept and deception is on the horizon. Also a new threat arises…. Something more deadly than they ever imagined…. The walking dead!

Created had everything I wanted from a book, dystopian setting, weird government experiments, romance, conspiracy and zombies.

It follows twins Kylie and Luke who have been genetically altered at birth so they grow up to become super soldiers.

I don't want to give too much away with this review so I will tell you this as they reach their coming of age they have to take part in the separation where they are prepared for war.

What happens is that they are taken to the separation early, why?

Well you can find that out for yourself, Kylie and Luke have always know that they are different, they have accepted that they will go to war but the reality seems a little different. Are they saviours or are they something very different.

I hope that is enough of a tease for you, I hate giving too much away and spoiling it for you!

Created is a great YA read and a perfect addition to your book shelf!

Thank you to Indie Sage PR for providing me with a copy in exchange for an honest review.

“…you are as good as you believe yourself to be.”

Created is a new YA, sci-fi, romance book by Author Peiri Ann. I have read, and loved, all of her paranormal books; Created is no exception. Although the storyline itself had a different feel than her other books, the same wonderful writing that I have become accustomed to was present.

“…he’s who I learn from. He’s why I’m here, and at the point of death, he will be the only one to save my life.”

Luke is half of a whole to the puzzle that is Created. He is like everyone’s favorite big brother. He loves Ky, pushes her, and will do anything for her.

“No way am I living without my brother. No him, no me.”

Ky is one of the strongest of the strong. She knows the rules and is determined to follow them. She will protect herself and her brother regardless of the what anyone else does or thinks. We find her to be a constant contradiction, tough and brazen, mixed with soft and wanting.

“He makes me feel something…something deep in my stomach that causes me to swallow hard and my words to get caught up in my throat”

Told in first person point of view for Ky’s perspective, Created was a fast-paced, thrilling, and emotional read. The America of Created was, decidedly, not a world I would not want to live in. However, as I read about it and experienced the daily happenings from Ky’s point of view, I found myself being engulfed in the story. There were things in this world that were forbidden, and these things were only the tip of the iceberg to all of the twists and turns that shook me throughout this read.
Created possessed interesting and unique character dynamics and interactions. The characters were well-developed and complex in nature, changing throughout the story, as they revealed different sides to their personalities and beliefs. One character, in particular, really caught my eye and that of one of the main characters. This relationship filled my need for romance and caused me to beg for more from them.

Coming to the end of the book, I flipped the page and sighed in exasperation. I need my next fix in this series, and will be waiting expectantly for it to come.

“What happened to you not breaking the rules?” “She might be worth breaking them.”
